For the second consecutive year, Sopra Steria is the Major Sponsor of the Control Room Awards and also sponsor of the Community Champion Award.
Paul Bergin, Head of Public Safety Group - Sopra Steria, who was among the awards judges last year, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to support the Control Room Awards once again after such a positive experience in 2022.
“It’s a wonderful event shining a light on the often unsung heroes of the emergency services who perform such a vital role.
“ We’re looking forward to seeing all the entries this year and hearing more about their inspirational and outstanding contributions.”
The Control Room Awards are the only accolades of their kind that recognise the selfless dedication of control room teams and individuals across the UK and abroad. Mike Isherwood, co-founder of the Control Room Awards, said: “It’s fantastic to have market leader Sopra Steria’s continued support for the Control Room Awards. “
These awards are all about celebrating the invisible first line of the emergency services and highlighting the incredible, life-saving work critical control room teams do around the clock, always there in our time of need. “The awards continue to go from strength to strength and we’re looking forward to another fantastic night recognising those who go above and beyond in their roles every day.”

BAPCO, which works in partnership to improve public safety through IT and communications technology, has created and is sponsoring the British APCO Control Room Innovation Award, which is for a team or an individual who have taken a unique or innovative approach with technology used within the control room.

The accolade recognises outstanding skills and capabilities when handling 999 or 101 calls as a dispatcher on one occasion, or across multiple incidents.
